The Quantum is a versatile equipment that has 3 guns for IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) with different wavelengths, 560nm and 640nm for photorejuvenation and 695nm for hair removal and a Nd: YAG 1064nm laser gun for deeper vascular lesions.

INDICATIONS

The IPL, due to its wide range of wavelengths, can treat benign, superficial vascular and pigmented lesions in any area of the body. For example: photo-aged skin, solar lentigines, telangiectasias, rosacea, etc.

THE TECHNIQUE

It consists of the application of a filtered high intensity light between 550 to 1,200 nm in single pulses or pulse trains. The emitted photons will be absorbed by different chromophores such as melanin and oxyhemoglobin.

TREATMENT (BEFORE AND AFTER)

Before undergoing a treatment with IPL, a consultation should be made with the specialist doctor to determine if it is indicated in your case and if a previous protocol should be followed.
With clean makeup skin, etc., put a layer of clear gel on the entire area to be treated and light pulses are applied to cover the entire area. During the treatment a slight sensation of heat is noticed, being more intense in the areas with more vascular component.
Once the session is over, the gel is removed and a cooling gel or moisturizer is applied. The skin may have a slight redness for a couple of hours, but can be covered with makeup.
The pigmented lesions will darken and it is possible that small crusts will form that will fall off by themselves in a few days.
Although you can continue with the usual activities, it is not recommended in 1 or 2 days to make efforts that can cause congestion.
The use of total sun protection factors after the treatment is very important.

RECOMMENDED SESSIONS

The complete treatment is usually from 4 to 6 sessions with intervals of 3 weeks.
